Lisa Gerstenkorn

Praised for her genuine stage presence and signature low notes, contralto Lisa Gerstenkorn is an active performer and educator of varied vocal genres. Originally from Pittsburg, KS, she has been a featured soloist with the Southeast Kansas Symphony, Taneycomo Festival Orchestra, Bartlesville Choral Society, and Heartland Sings. 

On the operatic stage, Lisa has enjoyed lead roles with Opera Kansas, Landlocked Opera, and Music on Site, Inc. With Lawrence Opera Theatre, she was featured in the world premiere of Bonnie McLarty’s Snow Angel, and she portrayed one of her favorite roles to date, Julia Child in Lee Hoiby’s one-woman opera, Bon Appétit! with Heartland Opera Theatre. Lisa also performed as a Filstrup Resident Artist with the Tulsa Opera for two years. Internationally, she has performed in Halifax, Canada with the Halifax Summer Opera Festival, and in Spain and Portugal with the American Opera Studio.

As a crossover artist, she also enjoys performing musical theatre, cabaret and jazz, and she has performed the music of Adele, Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge, and the Andrews Sisters.

Ms. Gerstenkorn previously taught Voice at Pittsburg State University, Missouri Southern State University, and Kansas City Community College. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and currently performs and teaches as a Principal Vocal Artist with Heartland Sings, Inc.
